Welcome to Suzanne and Martin's website, which has been created as a memorial to our beautiful baby boy Barney, who was born sleeping on 18th November 2006.
When it happened to us we thought we were a one in a million statistic, but we have found that stillbirth is far more common and just seems to be swept under the carpet. As a result we have encounted families that have struggled for years without anyone understanding how they feel, attempting to help them or simply asking if they are OK. Our aim is to raise awarenss of stillbirth and neonatal death and the support that is available.
EACH DAY IN THE UK 17 BABIES ARE STILLBORN OR DIE WITHIN 28 DAYS AFTER BIRTH
For many people the loss of a child through stillbirth or neo-natal death is often their first encounter with bereavement. This painful experience seems to be ignored or even dismissed by family and friends. Parents grieving over their loss often find themselves alone or unable to find appropriate advice or counselling.
Through this site we hope to give some pratical advice based on our experience and from others we have spoken to. We also want to promote the work of charities such as Sands (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity) who support anyone affected by the death of a baby and promote research to reduce the loss of babies' lives.
We'd like to invite others to share their stories and experiences as different people deal with life's challenges in many ways. If you'd like to share your story or experiences please email us and we will add it to the site as a source of help and comfort to others and yourself.

"I went on your website and watched the short film ('Tears in Heaven').
It is beautful and very moving.
Thank-you for getting in touch. I won't forget it." Jeremy Vine, BBC Radio 2
